Pluses:
- Skin softer and less itchy: Our tester noticed a big difference in the way her skin stayed soft long after the shower. While she normally uses lotion, she felt it wasn't needed after showering since her skin didn't feel as dry as usual.
- Eye relief: If you have dry, sensitive eyes, this shower filter can help reduce symptoms such as redness or itchiness which are often triggered by the chemicals used to treat water
- Healthier hair: We noticed that a chemical free shower improved the softness and shininess in the tester's hair. Chlorine can dry out hair, so removing the chlorine from the water seemed to improve her hair's appearance and feel. Fewer amounts of hair conditioner may be needed since hair is not as dry.
- Easy to turn dial: We like the intelligent design of the shower head which includes finger depressions in the plastic molding which makes it easy to turn the dial to change shower settings. Our tester appreciated that it was still easy to turn the dial while showering, and said her fingers didn't slip - even with wet, soapy hands.
- Strong water pressure flows through shower head: The massage setting was reported as very powerful and effective to relax tired or sore muscles. The water pressure didn't seem effected by it's new path through the shower filter.
Minuses:
- When changing from massage setting to rainshower setting, we noticed a decrease in water pressure; we would have preferred a more powerful rainshower stream.
- Initial water needs to be flushed into a bucket or down the drain to flush out the cartridge. There was some slightly dirty looking sediment filled water coming out of the shower head in the beginning, which went away after about 3 minutes.
- Mobility of direction of showerhead was noticeably more limited since the shower head needs to be tightly fitted around the shower water connection to prevent leaks. It was still slightly flexible, just a little harder to push the entire head left and right.
